Geophagus winemilleri isa Brazilian species found primarily in blackwater habitats in the Rio Negro drainage. Both males and females have orange bodies with red and sky blue fluorescent stripes running laterally between the gills and caudal fin. Their fins are decorated with red and blue patterns of spots and stripes.
